I wanted to share my experiences on Weight Watchers with all of you to show you that it worked (and is continuing to work) for me and that it can also work for you. I started Weight Watchers mainly because I wanted to get rid of those stubborn last 10-15 pounds, and also, to learn how to keep them off. That seems to be the tricky part. On Weight Watchers I have lost 15 lbs., and reached my goal weight of 127. Let me share with you a little history.
About a year or so ago I weighed about 155. That is the heaviest I have ever weighed and not be pregnant! Now I am only 5’4″ so 155 is not a healthy weight for me. Sometimes it takes certain circumstances to come up to jump start your weight loss. That is what happened to me. Last March my very best friend in the whole world was killed in a car wreck. Her name was Kay. In the 2 weeks that followed I lost about 14 lbs. due to stress as I’m sure you understand. That’s not the best way to lose weight. So, I came to the realization that I might as well jump on that bandwagon and use that as a positive stepping stone to lose the weight I so desperately, yet kept failing to do. At that time I didn’t know the proper way to really lose weight so tried unhealthy ways to lose weight. I did lose weight, but since I wasn’t doing it properly I didn’t know how to keep it off. This is where Weight Watchers comes in.
I wanted to find a healthy way to lose the weight and mainly I wanted to find a way to keep it off once it came off. In my opinion, that is the problem with so many diets now. You have to order their prepackaged foods, or they forbid you from eating a certain food. That way of eating will only last so long. We all have to join reality sooner or later and start eating like normal people. It would be too expensive to order their prepackaged foods for the rest of our lives so we have to find a way to keep it off and find a way to do it healthy. Weight Watchers has done that for me. I am big on eating! I love mexican food, chocolate, etc. You name it, I probably like it. I am also a big coke drinker.
Weight Watchers has shown me a way that I can still eat and lose weight. It is all about portions and just learning the right way to eat. Never thought I needed to learn HOW to eat, lol! Thru Weight Watchers I have realized there was so much I didn’t know. I am also exercising more. I usually walk 1-2 miles 3-4 times a week. I actually enjoy it too! Go figure!
I know the reason I have never succeeded, really succeeded in the past is because most diets, if not all, require you to eat special foods or totally forbid you from others. Now, I know you’ll agree with me on this. We are humans so if we are forbidden to do or eat something it makes us want it more. Not in all cases, but you know what I mean. So, telling me I couldn’t have bread or chocolate only made me want bread and chocolate more, and I really don’t like bread!
Hope this sheds a little light on how Weight Watchers can really help you if you let it. I know if it worked for me, knowing how much I love cooking AND eating, then I know it can work for anyone else. Staying fit and healthy is a daily challenge and I know that is attainable and achievable for all of us.
